Alan Johnson has laid the Euston manifesto to rest in a public rite notable for its almost exclusive use of past tense forms of Decentleftish. There will now be a period of official mourning. I suggest that we all show some respect to those who grieve at this sorrowful time.

1. The raison d’être for this blog is not to attack Stalinist and other anti-democratic and reactionary elements from the right, unlike others which shall remain nameless.
2. There seems to be the usual Saucer rightwing dementia at play. The DPRK/Kim père et fils are not ‘Trotskyist’, neither is George Galloway, Andrew Murray, or any of the other muppets regularly labelled as such at the Sauce … in fact the Swappies are not even ‘Trotskyist’, despite a bit of half-hearted sloganeering. The only ‘Trotskyist’ sects worthy of the name in the UK today are the various CWI splinters: Socialist Party (England and Wales) and Workers’ International League (Socialist Appeal) being the most significant; and Workers’ Liberty.

The fact that internet buffoon and Davespart nuisance Southpawpunch claims direct lineage to “trotskyist” orthodoxy probably says as much about the term as is necessary.
Phomsey’s (non deleted) point is indeed very stupid. Some posters here, and those like me who would chose this as the place to blog could they be arsed, were closely involved in the creation of the EMG and certainly have not got “what we really wanted”.
