Strangely, when I was a nipper I once had a conversation with a right-on fella about Gore Vidal and he said that it was good I didn’t chop my hair (I was a ponytailed cnut in them days) - apparently Gore Vidal ran a lot of salons according to this bloke and the money all went to The Man, yada yada yada. It was well before the days of internet or internet on your phone else I’d've had a word then and there.
Knowing what I know now - “You’ve got the wrong Vidal mate!”
Socialists from Essex. Bargepole required. So says Socialist from Essex.
There’s a great documentary about the 43 Group, which features some interviews with Vidal Sassoon. If I could remember its name, I’d recommend it to all anti-fascists.

So when The Rolling Stones sang:
“But what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock n roll band
cause in sleepy london town
Theres just no place for a street fighting man”
They were doubly wrong.
