What would they make of the, surely apocryphal, tale of Admiral Togo, his aide de camp and his, the admiral’s, testicles as the flagship went into action at Tsu Shima? Supposedly the ADC wanted to check whether the boss was scared and groped him only to find that his equipment was hanging loose, the scrotum untightened by fear. Don’t believe a word of it myself but it makes a good story.
