Ten years ago, 24th December, Toshiro Mifune died. One of the Greatest actors the world has ever known.
Here he is in Kurosawa’s epic The Seven Samurai:
Killing fuckers who deserved it — upside the heed — well done that man.
Alternatively — you can watch the queen giving it large.
Or Debord — giving it bigger.

La société du spectacle is at once the model (ahem) for Adam Curtis’ The Power of Nightmares and a critique.

Amazing film, Seven Samurai. “Ooh but it’s got subtitles and it’s black & white and it’s longer than 90 minutes” can fuck off. I once had the misfortune to see an MTV show with some idiot explaining how it was a copy of “The Magnificent Seven”.
Society of the Spectacle is required watching/reading in cultural studies departments and in adland. But that’s not its fault. “OurSpace” by Christine Harold is a good critique of this.
Cheers!
