It’s hardly racist to associate the presence of a Christian faith, Rastafarianism, the slaves’ version of what the slaveholders told them, with homophobia and theocratic structures in Jamaica.
It is not their “racial” or “cultural” feature to believe so literally in these religious and ethical teachings, it’s what they made from what the Christians told them.
That’ why it’s so stupid to culturalize these things, mainly the view on homosexuality and women, because it had been pretty much the same in any country just a 100 years ago, and to quite some degree it still is like this.
But it probably won’t get better if they keep sticking to their Rastafarian preachers.
