The Cuntspiracy (only looked today out of morbid curiosity) has a piece by Sunny Hundal, calling Martin Amis a racist. He must have insulted Hundal’s goatee too is all I can say. The title of Hundal’s post on Amis is a joke in and of itself, of course… “Why I think“…. indeed! Hitherto we’ve seen precious evidence that he does this at all.

Here is one of my problems with the whole thing:
Amis made those comments openly and declaratively. As far as I know, no one even blinked.
Eagleton pointed them out in an introduction to a book published nearly a year, if not longer, AFTER the event.
All of a sudden, all hell breaks loose.
If Amis’ words were so racist, how come no one had noticed before? There is something very suspicious about delayed outrage over racist expressions.
What was Eagleton’s reason for keeping quiet about it for so long, if he were truly disturbed?
