   Hitchens is pointing out that the jihadis came when we were not there and they now come when we are there. He suggests that because of this isolationism is not the answer, which is completely true. However if this was happening under isolationism and it was bad, how is the fact that is happening under the GWoT a good thing? Isn’t that also bad?

   What wouldn’t I give for an answer to: where are they coming from & why? And once that is answered perhaps we might figure out how to stop them.
