To the strength and dignity of the Kurdish people. Long may they prosper. Fuck liberal moralists.

“The Kurds have no friends-no friends but the mountains.” This powerful photo essay masterfully illustrates this Kurdish saying as it chronicles the Kurds’ seemingly endless struggle for survival. Hitchens, columnist for the Nation and Vanity Fair, describes the history of the Kurds in a 30-page introductory essay, documenting their legacy as victims of geopolitics. The 100 photographs by photojournalist Kashi, who traveled to Kurdistan, Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Iran, and even Germany, powerfully reveal the plight of contemporary Kurds. This book is unquestionably an apologia for the Kurds meant to keep alive awareness of their struggle. Nevertheless, there is criticism of the Kurds’ internal divisiveness; their situation is not entirely a result of actions beyond their control. When the Borders Bleed succeeds as a cohesive work. The prose is clear and succinct, the photographs persuasive and directly related to the prose. Highly recommended for public libraries, where there is likely to be little material available on the Kurds.”

The Kurds are rapidly becoming the “noble savages” of this blog (occupying a role normally reserved for the Palestinians among the mentally short-winded) with the lauding of their headbanger element, the idea that fighting is a praiseworthy activity in itself regardless of political goals or the likelihood of achieving them and now their special relationship with the natural world. It’s a kind leftist orientalism.

Or to put it another way; fuck the PKK and the fuck the wankers who get their jollies by encouraging the oppressed to get themselves killed for nothing

On the Kurdish question – I’m with you all the way. The decents are just a mirror image of the pseudos – they only support the “right” Kurds. Like you say – fuck the lot of them. Those who love humanity spit on its enemies.

Victory to the Kurds! Free Kurdistan! A humiliating and crushing defeat to the hand wringing liberal scum!

“The Kurds have no friends - no friends but the mountains.”

They’d do well to remember that. But if they help fuck with Iran the Americans will be happy to lend some assistance in passing.

Fuck the PKK. Up the PJK. Smash Iran.

We all hope for a unified nation for the Kurds. Do you think it’s possible?

Probably not without igniting WW3. Putin and his cranks would intervene to prevent any changes to the Iranian and Turkish borders.

But if there is a fight, the Kurds have every right to feel that Britain owes some dues. The best chance to establish Kurdistan came after the Treaty of Sevres in 1920-21, when, a rump state was offered. But instead of helping the Kurdish, Armenian and Greek minorities who were getting bashed by Ataturk, Britain was more interested in pumping money and arms into the White Russian proto-fascists fighting Trotsky.
