James Watson is a dribbling idiot
by Jura Watchmaker, 18 October 2007
Wherever I read today, I’m given the impression that James Watson’s latest racist outburst is due a substantial response.
Bollocks to that. Does Watson deserve our attention just because he’s a Nobel laureate? Wisdom does not always come with intellectual ability, and neither, always, does academic rigour. I would give no more time to Watson’s cantankerous utterances on social issues than I would to BNP press releases issued in the name of Nick Griffin*.
* Griffin, in case you didn’t know, was educated at a well-known institution in East Anglia.

“To all those who have drawn the inference from my words that Africa, as a continent, is somehow genetically inferior, I can only apologise unreservedly. That is not what I meant. More importantly from my point of view, there is no scientific basis for such a belief.”
That what the heck did he mean?

It reminds me of that other loony laureate, Brian Josephson…

Josephson? Indeed, he’s another scientist whose impact has been enormous, and yet he’s a complete fruitcake. Ditto Isaac Newton and a whole host of others down the ages.

The men who built the pyramids in ancient Egypt were not whites-europeans, they were africans!
The ancient Nubians were also africans!

It’s worth noting that the Oxford Union is inviting David Irving and Nick Griffin.

Well, at least he’s the only deranged, hate-filled lunatic that got a Nobel prize …

I wait with baited breath for David Suzuki to come after Watson the way he did after Phillipe Rushton, or is Suzuki too busy doing the eco-circuit circus with Steve Lewis?

Seeing no counter view to the poster’s here I can only hope that counter views are being censored rather than that no one has the brains and/or balls to express them.
In any event, my own view is quite different than the expressed one. I’m of the opinion that most African peoples are almost certainly less intellectually able (in a general sense of the term) than are Ashkenazi Jews. And precisely BECAUSE I consider that to be overwhelmingly likely my economic preferences lean toward socialism.
As you could imagine such views are less than welcome in most quarters, nevertheless I wrote of them in a comment on the Libertarian blog Hit n’ Run and reproduced that comment on my own website at http://mnuez.blogspot.com/2007/10/repeat-after-me-all-people-are-all-same.html .
Precisely because I like the bunch of you who contribute here and often find you to be intellectual allies, I would be interested in hearing what you think about my expressed ideas on the subject.
My thoughts on the subject may or may not be “racist” (I personally despise all terms designed to inhibit free discussion) but I believe that the onus of evidence does not lie upon them but rather upon those who would disagree with what seems practically self-evident.

You know, science would be a lot easier if you could just made shit up that suited your prejudices and then write in the Conclusions section: “It is for others to disprove my hypothesis because it is practically self-evident”.
The first, triple-helical, model of DNA that Watson and Crick came up with was “practically self-evident” to them at the time, but those other brainless, ball-less scientists rejected it on the grounds that the evidence didn’t support it and it wasn’t true. Just goes to show: political correctness had already gone mad even in the 1950s.

Time:
“Controversial Nobel Laureate retires”
I bet he’s hoping there aren’t too many of those dumb African-Americans working in his rest home.

“Sarry baas!”
