Targeting tactics

Norman Geras makes an important point about the terrorist attacks recently prevented in Germany. There is no doubt that one strand of liberal thought will already trying to fit the attacks to their preformed and rigid narrative of the West’s sins of overthrowing Saddam Hussain and removing the abhorrent Taliban. Indeed, one can imagine that the more intelligent members of jihadist cells realise that putting an “American angle” on any European atrocities will continue to serve as a valuable propaganda tool.

What is more interesting is how they might fit the aborted 1999 News Years Eve bomb attack on Strasbourg Christmas market in France, for which 4 Algerians are currently serving jail sentences in Germany and 10 in France - including an alleged associate of Osama Bin Laden.

Clinton was still President.
