It’s time for the Police to take action!

The publication today of information about the take-over of UK mosques by the fundamentalist Deobandi sect today should be of great concern to the UK public. The Times reports on the thoughts of their leading preacher Riyadh ul Haq on the matter of the Jews.
“They’re all the same. The Jews don’t have to be in Israel to be like this. It doesn’t matter whether they’re in New York, Houston, St Louis, London, Birmingham, Bradford, Manchester. They’re all the same. They’ve monopolised everything: the Holocaust, God, money, interest, usury, the world economy, the media, political institutions . . . they monopolised tyranny and oppression as well. And injustice”
This sort of material is an offensive and puts a long-suffering community under even greater pressure. It is time the Police acted.
I therefore call upon the West Midlands Police to investigate The Times with utmost urgency, to collect evidence for prosecution of the newspaper for stirring up racial hatred against a minority who live in constant fear of secularism, freedom, and not being able to bump off the odd apostate novelist.
This is exactly the sort of crude intolerance that is endangering our pluralistic society. To borrow a phrase from one of our greatest modern thinkers, “we have to increase our imaginations to grasp the enormous variety of human experience”

dsquared argues in HP’s comments that the Religious Hatred bill (never a more aptly named piece of proposed law) would have been able to tackle extremism. By “tackle” I think he means “protect and cover up”, as the CPS are doing well enough shooting messengers without any extra legal help.
