Clinton: terrorist attack would help Republicans
by Jura Watchmaker, 29 August 2007
Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has declared that she is best equipped to fight terrorists, and that another attack on the US would aid the GOP enemy.
Clinton’s words give new meaning to the word “hilarious”, and if Osama strikes again, we shall no doubt have Robert Fisk explain it away – reluctantly and with heavy heart – as the result of a nefarious Bushite conspiracy.
In true Clark County style I say “Vote Obama!”.

A plague on the whole shower. Election time in US is one of those times to thank the good Karl in N6 6PJ that I don’t live there.

In fact three things are needed.
1. Don’t vote.
2. Actively campaign against voting for either of the parties.
3. Agitation for a party of labo(u)r.

It’s all very well to say that from a distance, but I’d prefer to vote to, say, at least help ensure that the county sheriff isn’t a raging christianist.
The character of the national parties comes from the character of their members in local governments.

Ben
I was being just a little facetious, so don’t take me seriously. Barak Obama may or may not be the dog’s bollocks of ‘progressive’ US politics, and I’m in no way qualified to comment given my geographical and cultural distance. But from what is reported here in Europeland, Obama does speak a lot more sense than Clinton on foreign policy.
As for the nature of US political parties, you are spot on. And calls for the establishment of a party of “Labo(u)r” are a non-starter, right across the political spectrum.
